Nepali OpenCD 1.0 released

Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya has just released the Nepali OpenCD 1.0.

Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) in Nepali Language.

The Nepali OpenCD 1.0 is a compilation of free and open source software localized into Nepali and runnable in the Windows operating system and developed by Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya with a view to promote the general awareness and usage of free and open source software among end-users. The software included in the CD cover the most common tasks such as word processing, spreadsheet, presentations, web browsing, multimedia , and image manipulation. The translation and localization of the software has been supported by the International Development and Research Centre, Canada under the PAN Localization Project. In order to be able to run the localized software in Nepali, you would need to install first of all "Nepali Unicode", a software which is also available together with the software inside the CD.

The Nepali OpenCD 1.0 comprises of the following software:

  1. Open Office.org 2.1
  2. SeaMonkey
  3. VLC
  4. Gimp
  5. Filezilla
  6. Nepali Unicode
