Nepal GNU/Linux Developers Release1 by Khairil Yusof — last modified 2004-10-17 10:42 PM

The first test release of Nepal GNU/Linux is available for download. It has the Devanagari font preinstalled along with a "falling letters" typing program that is designed to teach English speakers the Devanagari alphabet. Currently the xfce4 interface contains English and Nepali text menus, however the Nepali text is incorrectly translated; it is hoped that by releasing this early that Nepali GNU/Linux users will be able to help the project by fixing the translation.

This project includes a Nepali GNU/Linux distribution 'NepaLinux' comprising of localized GNOME, OpenOffice.org, Mozilla suite, and other utilities that include Nepali Spellchecker, Thesaurus, Nepali Unicode support, etc. This distribution can be used in Nepali as well in English environment.
