LinuxTag exhibition and conference in Germany
The LinuxTag exhibition and conference is one of the biggest open source events worldwide. Since its initiative in 1996, Karlsruhe, Germany, backed by a prominent community it has been luring itself as one of the most promising annual open source events.
This year's exhibition was held 22nd - 25th of June. The motto chosen for this year was “Linux everywhere”. More than 16,000 attendants including IT policy-makers, developers and users, and also Dr. Khansari on behalf of the Farsi Linux project were among the participants.
During the conference, 160 lecturers form 15 countries presented their work on various aspects of open source. Over 160 companies were present in the exhibition.
Presentations were categorized into five main categories of commerce, office, open source software, companies, practical Linux user groups and Fedora Core 2 conference.

During the conference there was the opportunity for some major talks with participating companies and organizations conducted by Dr. Khansari, on behalf of Farsi Linux national project. Major highlights include talks with the Free Software Foundation of Europe (FSFE), leading to an agreement between the parties which will be due to implementation once endorsed by the European side. The goal of the project is to set up a Free Software Foundation branch in Middle East (FSME). Similar talks were conducted with the Spanish Free knowledge Foundation (FCL) and Latin America Free Software Foundation (including Peru, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, etc.) in order to take use of the other parties' experiences such as the www.proposicion.org.ar , a website intended to promote the use of OSS in public administration area.
