Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and FSFE

Inspired by the common interests shared and as an expression of the desire to expand and strengthen the relationship developed between the two institutions, “FSFE” and “AICTC” agreed to start a program on the general term of Free Software.

 Free Software Foundation Europe, established in Germany (hereafter referred to as “FSFE”), and Advanced Information and Communication Technology Center of Sharif University as the manager of the GNU/Linux localization project in Iran (hereafter referred to as “AICTC”) agreed to start a program on the general term of Free Software on topics set forth below:

   • Sharing knowledge on Free Software, especially organizational issues
   • Building the culture, human resources and public awareness
   • Promotion of Free Software-related business models
   • Promotion of Free Software in the government and public administration
   • Organizing joint conferences
   • Collaborative work on organizing international meetings such as UN meetings
   • Participation on workshops, conferences and exhibitions
   • Encouraging commercial Free Software
   • Building a middle east organization in accordance with the international Free Software network
   • Free Software training and education, especially in schools and universities
   • Establishing the necessary legal framework for the Free Software
