The national Persian GNU/Linux project is an initiative meant to promote the spirit of open source among the youth and students by providing the infra-structures and facilities vital to the development process, such as free hosting for the qualified projects at here.
The website acts as the main platform for interactions between parties interested in open source nationwide through services such as daily updates on the main global events. Besides the freely provided hosting service the website provides means of coordination between the involved parties such as the following:
    • Concurrent Versions System (CVS)
    • Control of project documents
    • Mailing List
Using each project's main page the ordinary visitors can have access to:
    • Project news
    • Community
    • Views
    • File delivery system
Search for any intended project can be done either through a name search or the Trove branch. Once on the project's home page, the visitor can view some useful statistics such as the project's activity percentile or file hits.
The project's mother site provides the opportunity for discussion among the projects' developers; allowing bug reporting, feature requests, etc. . . .
