Sharif Advanced Information and Communication Technology Centre (AICTC) in co-operation with the governor of Qom and the Qom Advanced Javid Software Company will organise the Second Regional Conference on Applied Linux in Qom. This is a one-day conference to be held on October 13th 2004, in Qom Medical School. The conference is composed of two parts: oral session and a workshop. In the oral session, officials from the Qom regional county, the director of Sharif Advanced Information and Communication Technology Centre and the manager of Farsi Linux National Project will address the conference. Conference Objectives: To familiarise managers and governmental officials with the Linux operating system and special attention is given to the importance of Information Technology (IT), To familiarise IT governmental users of operating and running Linux, To be familiarised with the Farsi Linux National Project. Preparation for the cultural usage of the Linux operating system, Introduction to the capabilities, practical experience, research and to the teaching of Linux, Making the grounds for Linux and awareness of its potential. Technical grounds for the extension of Linux operating system. The attendees include managers, IT users in governmental sectors, students and interested users around the region of Qom. Sponsors of the conference include Qom's governor, Qom Medical School, High Council of Informatics and Supreme Council of Information.
