FOSS.ir takes part in first international conference on "Islam world, IT and information society"

FOSS.ir took part in first "Islam world, IT and information society" international conference which was part of a series of conferences on Isfahan's role in development of Islamic science, culture and civilization and was conducted by Isfahan Technical University on 11 and 12 December.

During the conference FOSS.ir director gave a speech on FOSS and Iran's trend toward FOSS and its role in information society and introduced the project to the attendants. Dr. Khansari stated: "After 20 years, FOSS is now struggling for freedom of software all over the world and also tries to develop use of free software in IT." The conference was aimed at improving interaction and cooperation between Islamic countries in IT and raise concerns over panorama of Islamic information society through investigation on advances, opportunities and challenges ahead of IT in Islamic countries.
