India Linux Users' Group (Goa) ... the friendly LUG
 | Welcome to ILUG-Goa, the Free Software network web swiki. India Linux Users Group (Goa) is the Goa chapter of the nationwide FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) movement. Ours is a small-but-growing, informal network, whose goal is to spread knowledge and awareness about FLOSS. Freedom for software users is our priority, and we believe that knowledge should be shared. Our voluntary and wholly not-for-profit organisation was set up over four years ago (in early 2000). We have been since regularly meeting and sharing information, and software (legally). |
- We meet in Panjim once each month, and at Farmagudi (depending on the academic year, but sometimes as often as weekly) and have a network at St Xavier's College, Mapusa. You can find out more about our meetings and venues below.
- There is no fee to be part of ILUG-Goa, and all interested in knowing more about this field are welcome.
- We specially welcome students. We welcome those who would like to form LUGs (GNU/Linux User Groups) in their own localities. Contact us for more details.
- If your college would like us to hold a special program for the students, we are willing to volunteer our time and energies; provided you undertake the local organising. Our LUG has held events at St Xavier's Mapusa, GVM-Margao, PCC-Verna etc.
