Indian state looks to open source technology

Indian state of Uttaranchal signs e-governance MoU to focus on open source technology, as well as a university programme MoU to develop local IT talent.

Since its formation in 2000, the state government has focused on evolving a strategy of cutting down non-productive expenditure, in order to make available more resources for critical sectors like infrastructure, education, health and employment generation.
