Information regarding travel arrangements etc.

[*] Applicable to participants sponsored by the UNDP or partner organizations only.

Travel Arrangements *

Respective local UNDP offices will assist all sponsored participants with flight arrangements and/or issuing of air tickets. Sponsored participants will be provided with return economy air tickets to Siem Reap,and terminal expenses according to standard UNDP rates and regulations on travel. Please check with your local UNDP office for flight arrangements. Please send your final travel itinerary to Sunil Abraham in order to facilitate hotel reservations on your behalf.

Visas

Participants can obtain visas, if required by Cambodian Immigration, upon their arrival in Siem Reap. Please bring 2 passport sized photographs and 20 US Dollars in cash for this. Details are available from Cambodia Tourism website

Kindly check with your local UNDP offices or nearest Cambodian Embassy for more information regarding visa requirements for Cambodia. A listing of Cambodian Embassies and Diplomatic Missions also available at this website.

Living Expenses *

Sponsored participants will be provided with appropriate living expenses based on standard UNDP Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) for the duration of the Forum in Siem Reap. Sponsored participants are expected to settle all living expenses, including hotel expenses, out of the DSA provided.

Accommodation and Hotel Charges

Sponsored participants will stay at the designated Hotel and reserved a room at the rate of USD40 per night.

Please note that sponsored participants are expected to settle all accommodation, hotel and living expenses out of the appropriate Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) provided by the organizers prior to their arrival. The organizers are not responsible for any living expenses or other expenses.

Sponsored participants are free to change, on arrival, the type of hotel room according to personal preference, subject to room availability. Please call the hotel for other room options.

Airport Transfer *

As terminal expenses are provided through sponsored participants' local UNDP Country Offices, participants are expected to arrange their respective airport transfers upon arrival in and departure from Siem Reap. The event venue City Angkor Hotel is about 10mins from the airport by taxi.

Currency Exchange

The official currency of Cambodia is the Riel however US dollars are widely accepted; in fact many businesses set their prices in US dollars. It is however wise to carry some riel around with you for small purchases. The current exchange rate for the riel to the US$ is around 4000 riel = US$1.

The acceptance of credit cards is increasing in Cambodia and you can get cash advances against your credit card at some major commercial banks. There are however no ATMs that will provide access to foreign bank accounts.

Meals

Tea breaks and lunch will be provided to participants for the duration of the FOSSAP consultation.
