It's announced...

FOSSAP 2 is in early September 2005... in Cambodia.

Sunil's rather formal email came through on July 28. The "second in the series of Free/Open Source Software Asia Pacific (FOSSAP II) consultations for FOSS government officials, practitioners, and members of academia and civil society" has been announced. It's to be held from September 1 to 4 in Cambodia. Event partners include the National ICT Development Agency (NiDA) Cambodia; Open Forum, Cambodia, and Intel Corporation, USA. Watch this space for more details.

FOSSAP II in Siem Reap, Cambodia

After going to the IOSN web-site do I realise that the conference is to be held in Siem Reap and not Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This presents a new dimension to the travelling woes, unless you're prepared to spend 3 hours of travelling by road From Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. There are limited direct flight to Siem Reap from either S'pore or Kuala Lumpur. I've just requested for confirmation that the venue for the conference "is" Siem Reap and there's a chance that there is a mistake in the web-site?? ;)
