Vietnam Adopts Formal FOSS Master Plan by Khairil Yusof — last modified 2004-07-28 05:02 PM
March 8th, 2004, Hanoi – Vietnam has formally adopted a Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) master plan. As announced by Dr. Hoang Le Minh, on March 2nd, 2004, Vietnam formally signed an extensive 5-year plan to encourage FOSS usage in Vietnam. Dr. Hoang Le Minh was speaking at the Asia Open Source Software Symposium organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and the Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) of Japan.
