In 2004, the Vietnamese Government has identified Open Source as a way not only to reinforce the national software infrastructure required for efficient governance, but also to give a new chance for Vietnam to master this infrastructure and incubate a national software industry. In this context, the COSGov Conference will bring together public and private sector professionals focused on transforming government operations through open source software as a mean to improve public services and consolidate cooperation across agencies. It will be a forum to present case studies of best practises, and explore tools to support e-government initiatives across federal, state, and local government organisations.
