MSC-Status Open Source Systems Sdn Bhd (OSS) is a leading pioneer in the realm of Research & Development. In 1998, the company successfully developed Malaysia's first super parallel cluster (SPC) computer, with the performance on par with supercomputers, running on the Linux operating system. Building on this tradition, OSS has grown to become an organization with a wide-ranging product and service offerings in areas including virtual reality, bioinformatics, e-commerce and secure solution architectures. OSS also exclusively represents the SAIR/GNU Linux courseware products for Malaysia and Singapore. SAIR Linux and GNU provides the most objective, detailed, comprehensive training material and exams available. It also covers 100% of the objectives covered by certification companies such as LPI and Redhat. OSS has formed "smart partnerships" with organizations such as UKM's Biotechnology Academy, Germany's Fraunhofer Institute and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) to develop leading edge, cost-effective and innovative solutions for the marketplace. As a proven example of smart partnership, OSS together with the Fraunhofer Institute are building Malaysia's first Virtual Reality Competency Center (VRCC) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak.
